Our Mission
The Love And Trust Art Foundation (LATA), established in November 2025, is a not-for-profit initiative dedicated to bringing art education and emotional growth programs to children in under-resourced schools across Jamaica, Kenya, and India.
We believe that art, love, and trust have the power to build a brighter, more confident generation. Through creative mentorship, access to art supplies, and programs that nurture self-expression, we help children discover their voice, their imagination, and their sense of belonging.
At the heart of LATA lies a simple truth: when children are trusted to create, they begin to believe in themselves and that belief can change everything.
Our Pledge
Funded by proceeds from the Shaleeka ID brand, the Love And Trust Art Foundation stands as our promise to give back through creativity.
A percentage of every Shaleeka ID sale directly supports LATA’s programs providing art materials, teacher resources, and community workshops in schools that lack access to them.
Each creation sold under Shaleeka ID contributes to another creation being born in a child’s hands somewhere in the world turning art into a continuous cycle of love, trust, and opportunity.
During my college summer breaks, I used to teach art to children in my neighborhood. What began as a simple way to share something I loved soon became a lifelong calling. Over the years, I’ve seen how art opens hearts — how a box of colors and a bit of encouragement can turn hesitation into confidence.
The Love And Trust Art Foundation carries that same belief: that every child deserves the chance to imagine freely, create boldly, and be seen for who they are. Through art programs, mentorship, and year-round supply initiatives, we bring creativity, confidence, and hope to under resourced schools in Jamaica, Kenya, and India.
I don’t remember every detail, but I remember the feeling. When I was a toddler, my mother showed me how to draw a lotus, starting from a simple plus sign. Watching that shape transform into a flower filled me with awe. That small moment became the seed of my lifelong love for art.
My mother has always been my artistic inspiration. She could draw landscapes and freehand sketches with such ease and flow, teaching me that true art isn’t about perfection it’s about the journey, the curiosity, and the sense of wonder along the way.
The Love And Trust Art Foundation logo carries that spirit forward. Each lotus petal represents one of our nine foundational pillars the values that shape our mission and the children we serve. The red outline around the lotus is the ninth petal, symbolizing love and trust the bond that holds everything together.
